A native of Bluefield, West Virginia, Jordan Carinelli is an active saxophonist and multiple woodwind artist. He holds a Master’s Degree in Multiple Woodwind Performance and Pedagogy from Ohio University as well as Bachelor degrees in Music Performance and Music Education from Marshall University.
As a saxophonist Jordan has won numerous competitions including the 2015 West Virginia MTNA Young Artist Soloist and Chamber Music Competitions, the 2015 Marshall University Soloist Competition, the 2015 Belle and Lynum Jackson Competition, and most recently the 2016 Ohio University Concerto Competition. He is an avid performer in and around the West Virginia Tri-State area. Additionally, he is a proponent of new music for the saxophone and seeks music that pushes the boundaries of contemporary technique. His primary teachers include Dr. Matthew James and Dr. Ed Bingham.
